
Dr. Havovi JOSHI
Dr Havovi Joshi is the Director, Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University (SMU). She is also the editor-in-chief of Asian Management Insights, and has served as a chief collaborator and editor on several book projects. Havovi is a widely published award-winning case author and the author of the book Tips and Tools: A Guide to Effective Case Writing. She has led numerous professional development workshops on case writing and case teaching.
Havovi’s knowledge and understanding of business practice is backed by more than many years of experience in international banking, internal auditing, and consulting services in India, Australia, and Mauritius. In 2012, she relocated to Singapore where she helped establish the Centre for Management Practice (CMP) at SMU, now renamed as the Centre for Case Learning Excellence.
Havovi graduated with honours from the University of Delhi with a B.A. (Hons) in Mathematics, and then completed her Master in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She completed her Doctorate in Business Administration from SMU, where her thesis focused on global competitiveness and managing disruption in emerging markets.

Lipika BHATTACHARYA
Lipika Bhattacharya is Associate Director, Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University (SMU). She has authored several best-selling cases and won multiple case awards including the Case Centre’s Outstanding Case Writer Award in 2021, and the EFMD Case Award in 2022. She is an ardent believer in the case-method pedagogy, and its power to foster critical thinking and decision-making skills. Beyond her professional role, she also volunteers with local grassroots initiatives for higher learning, where she introduces young students to the case method.
Lipika joined SMU’s case initiative in 2015, prior to which she spent over 16 years in the technology industry in project management with multinational firms including IBM, Keane Inc. and TomTom. She has worked in India, France, Belgium, the US, and Singapore, gaining insights into global business practices that inform her case writing and teaching collaborations.
Lipika graduated with distinction in Bachelor of Computer Science, from Vinoba Bhave University, India, and was the university topper. She did her Master’s in IT-Business from SMU.
Lipika has co-authored a book, XAAS: Everything as a Service and written academic articles in journals and global platforms including the World Economic Forum.

Dr. Cheah Sin Mei
Dr. Cheah Sin Mei is a Case Writer for the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. She received her Doctorate of Business Administration from University of Canberra (Australia), following a Master in Education Technology from University of Southern Queensland (Australia) and a Bachelor in Science from National University of Singapore. Her interest in academic research has led to her involvement in two projects with the Nanyang Technological University, namely innovation in SMEs and start-ups, and rumors in social media. Prior to academia, she has extensive experience in the ICT industry, including 12 years of project management experience in the public sector in healthcare, e-government service delivery and communications. She has also worked for POSB and Sony Corporation in the early stage of her career.

Chan Chi Wei
Chan Chi Wei is a case writer for the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. He graduated with a BA degree in Political Science and Economics from Emory University, and an MBA from Singapore Management University. His work experience includes over four years in banking operations. He is an avid sportsman.

Thomas Lim
Thomas Lim is a Case Writer with the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. He has had considerable experience conducting desktop research spanning political, economic, social, educational and other policy areas for the Australian High Commission and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. He had also carried out media monitoring, news summary writing, media report collation and content analysis report writing for various corporate clients, many of which are Singapore government agencies and public-listed companies. Earlier on in his career, he was a B2B news portal and trade news magazine editor and writer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Language from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Science in Knowledge Management from Nanyang Technological University.

Mahima Rao-Kachroo
Mahima is a Case Writer for the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. She graduated with a BA degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore. Her work experience includes the advertising and publishing industry, launching her own baking business, and case writing. She is also a published illustrator and is passionate about baking, writing, and art.
