Lipika BHATTACHARYA
Lipika Bhattacharya is Associate Director, Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University (SMU). She has authored several best-selling cases and won multiple case awards including the Case Centre’s Outstanding Case Writer Award in 2021, and the EFMD Case Award in 2022. She is an ardent believer in the case-method pedagogy, and its power to foster critical thinking and decision-making skills. Beyond her professional role, she also volunteers with local grassroots initiatives for higher learning, where she introduces young students to the case method.
Lipika joined SMU’s case initiative in 2015, prior to which she spent over 16 years in the technology industry in project management with multinational firms including IBM, Keane Inc. and TomTom. She has worked in India, France, Belgium, the US, and Singapore, gaining insights into global business practices that inform her case writing and teaching collaborations.
Lipika graduated with distinction in Bachelor of Computer Science, from Vinoba Bhave University, India, and was the university topper. She did her Master’s in IT-Business from SMU.
Lipika has co-authored a book, XAAS: Everything as a Service and written academic articles in journals and global platforms including the World Economic Forum.
Dr. Cheah Sin Mei
Dr. Cheah Sin Mei is Assistant Director at the Centre for Case Learning Excellence, Singapore Management University. She is an experienced business case author and researcher whose work focuses on developing rigorous, practice-oriented teaching cases for business education.
Since 2018, Sin Mei has authored more than 50 business case studies that have been taught by universities worldwide to over 80,000 students. Her work has been recognised through the inaugural Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards in 2022 and has included several bestselling cases on the Harvard Business Impact case platform in consecutive years.
Her publications appear in Harvard Business Review in 2025, several peer-reviewed academic journals, and in a book titled The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence for the Sustainable Development Goals, published by Springer.
Before SMU, she had worked at Nanyang Technological University, public-sector agencies, a multinational corporation, and a major local bank.
Sin Mei holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Canberra, Australia; a Master’s in Education Technology from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia; and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore.
Thomas Lim
Thomas Lim is Assistant Director with the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. His case study on Thai Wah Public Company Ltd was included in a World Scientific Publishing book on Asian family businesses. He has had considerable experience conducting desktop research for the Australian High Commission and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. He had also carried out media monitoring, news summary writing (including translation from Mandarin news reports to English), and content analysis report writing for various corporate clients. Earlier on in his career, he was a B2B news portal and trade news magazine editor and writer for a former unit of Enterprise Singapore, and a writer for a Mediacorp periodical. He is proficient in English and Mandarin, having studied Higher Chinese during his foundational school years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Language with a second major in English Literature from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Science in Knowledge Management from Nanyang Technological University.
Chan Chi Wei
Chan Chi Wei is Senior Case Writer for the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. He graduated with a BA degree in Political Science and Economics from Emory University, and an MBA from Singapore Management University. His work experience includes over four years in banking operations. He is an avid sportsman.

Mahima Rao-Kachroo
Mahima is Senior Case Writer for the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. She graduated with a BA degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore. Her work experience includes the advertising and publishing industry, launching her own baking business, and case writing for Harvard Business School. She is also a published illustrator, and is an avid baker and ceramicist.

Alvin Lee
Alvin Lee is Senior Case Writer for the Centre for Case Learning Excellence at Singapore Management University. He graduated with a BSc in Film & Television from Boston University and spent 12 years in the financial and sports broadcast industry.
Since 2013, Alvin has been translating academic research into useable insights in both online and physical formats, and tracking online analytics. Case writing was the upstream point of academic content creation, which suited his inclination for storytelling. His favourite topics for cases are strategy and entrepreneurship. His favourite topic in general is cooking.
